Transformation through Being There
My engagement with the force of the worldwide standstill went through several stages. From bewilderment in the face of helplessness, via an inner, lamenting rebellion against the consequences, to a surrender to grief that flows into a deep silence.
Only in the vulnerability of this silence did recognition and acceptance of a new quality grow: as everything “normal” falls away and existential structures collapse, I am thrown back onto a core: How do I find security and being held within myself? What carries me?
“Weeping” instead of “lamenting”: going into grief in the face of helplessness, instead of rearing up lamenting in powerless complaint. This “acknowledging-what-is” gives me the space for the unfolding of new possibilities and paths.
Some other people, however, may see their way through the crisis in actively striding through the challenge: for them, neither “weeping” nor “lamenting” may open the new path appropriate to them. The ambiguity of the title points to this.
The “symphonic sound space”
“O_ISIS_7986_0506” – from the Visiography series for the composition.
In such an incomprehensible situation, words carry the danger of covering up the depth of the world-spanning upheaval with pathos or with cognitively driven calls to action.
The singing in the composition therefore does without words. Sounds of grief and of hope lead through the inner process of transformation.
They stand in the context of the "last trumpet", of psaltery sounds, of trembling towers of sound and of redeeming spheres – up to the final union of calm grounding with the glow of a promise.
In a four-channel version, this exchange becomes spatially perceptible.
The way into the world
The message of this music may help to recognize and to walk the path to one’s own transformation – perhaps as a special form of meditation.
Therefore this two-channel mp3 version may gladly be downloaded and passed on.
The music is heard symphonically. A version for large orchestra with spatially separated soloists is planned. If possible, supported by sponsors.
